This Privacy Policy explains how Skein ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our service at skein.team and any related applications, websites, or APIs (collectively, the "Service").

1. Who We Are
Skein is operated by TailoredU LLC, located at 9660 Lord Ct, Eden Prairie, MN 55347.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account information: name, email address, password (hashed), profile details
- Payment information: processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers
- Agent configuration: the names, personalization, and goals you set for your AI agents
- Conversations: messages you send to and receive from your agents
- Communications with us: support requests, feedback
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, agent interactions, time and date of activity
- Device data: browser type, operating system, IP address, device identifiers
- Cookies and local storage: authentication tokens, session state, preference settings
Information from third-party integrations (only with your explicit consent)
When you connect third-party tools to Skein, we access only the data necessary to perform the tasks you request:
- Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar): see the dedicated Google API Services section below
- Other integrations (added in the future): we will update this policy and request consent before accessing data from any new third-party service
3. Google API Services User Data Policy
Skein's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
What we access
When you connect a Google Workspace account to Skein, we may access:
- Gmail: read messages, draft responses, manage labels (only with your explicit OAuth consent)
- Google Calendar: read events, create events, find available times (only with your explicit OAuth consent)
How we use Google data
- Solely to perform the specific task you request through your Skein agents (e.g., "draft a reply to this email," "find a free hour next Tuesday")
- Data is fetched on-demand and used in the immediate context of your conversation
- We do not store Google user data beyond what is necessary to complete the requested task and display in your conversation history
What we never do with Google data
- We do not sell, rent, or share your Google data with third parties
- We do not use Google data for advertising, marketing, or audience segmentation
- We do not use Google data to train machine learning or AI models, including the underlying Anthropic Claude models that power our agents
- We do not allow humans to read your Google data, except (a) with your explicit consent, (b) for security investigations, or (c) to comply with applicable law
How to revoke access
You can disconnect Skein from your Google account at any time by:
- Visiting skein.team/settings/integrations and clicking "Disconnect"
- Or visiting myaccount.google.com/permissions and removing Skein
When you disconnect, we delete the OAuth tokens immediately and stop all access.
4. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Operate AI agents on your behalf based on instructions you provide
- Send you account-related communications (receipts, security alerts, service updates)
- Respond to support requests
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of our Terms of Service
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your conversations, agent configurations, or third-party integration data to train AI models. Anthropic processes your conversations to generate responses but, per our agreement with Anthropic, does not retain or train on your data.

We share information only as described below:
Service providers
We use the following third-party services to operate Skein. Each is bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations:

Legal disclosures
We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Skein, our users, or others.
Business transfers
If Skein is acquired, merges, or sells assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you and any new owner will be bound by this policy.
Aggregated or de-identified data
We may share aggregated, anonymized statistics that cannot identify you (e.g., "90% of customers use the Executive Assistant agent") for marketing or research purposes.
6. Data Retention
- Account data: retained while your account is active and for 90 days after deletion, then permanently removed (except where law requires longer retention, e.g., tax records).
- Conversation history: retained for the lifetime of your account; you can delete individual conversations from your dashboard.
- Google API data: not retained beyond what is necessary to complete the immediate request and display in your conversation, in accordance with Google's Limited Use requirements.
- Payment records: retained for 7 years for tax and accounting compliance.
- Logs: retained for 90 days for security and debugging.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: request deletion of your account and associated data
- Portability: request a machine-readable export of your data
- Objection: object to certain processing activities
- Withdraw consent: revoke consent for processing where consent was the basis
To exercise any of these rights, email support@skein.team. We will respond within 30 days.
For California residents: you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to opt-out of any sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information).
For EU/UK residents: we process personal data on the legal bases of contract performance, legitimate interest, and consent, as applicable. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:
- TLS encryption in transit
- Encryption at rest for sensitive data (passwords, OAuth tokens)
- Row-level security in our database (multi-tenant isolation)
- Access controls and audit logging
- Regular security reviews and updates
No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@skein.team.
9. Children's Privacy
Skein is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
10. International Data Transfers
Skein operates from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
For users in the EU/UK, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other approved transfer mechanisms with our service providers where required.
11. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and local storage for:
- Essential: authentication, session management, security
- Functional: remembering your preferences and settings
- Analytics: measuring how users interact with the Service to improve it (anonymized)
We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies will prevent the Service from functioning correctly.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version.
