FAQ
Common questions about Skein.
Pricing, agents, integrations, voice training — straight answers.
What is Skein?
Skein is a platform for hiring a small team of AI agents that work together on your business. Each Skein agent has one specialty — inbox, daily brief, sales outreach, or LinkedIn drafting — and you run between one and four of them in formation. Skein is built for solo operators, founders, and small teams who need leverage without hiring full-time staff.
How is Skein different from CrewAI, Relevance AI, or n8n?
Skein ships fully configured agents with specific jobs (Wren for inbox, Warbler for daily brief, Hawk for outreach, Mockingbird for LinkedIn) — you don't build the agent, you hire it. CrewAI, Relevance AI, and n8n are workflow builders: powerful, but you supply the agent design, prompts, and tool wiring yourself. Skein trades flexibility for time-to-value: most users have a working agent within 15 minutes of signup.
Can I use Skein without writing code?
Skein requires zero code. Setup is a guided wizard: connect your Gmail or Outlook, paste a few sentences about how you work, and the agent is live. Customization (triage rules, voice samples, brand guidelines) is plain text in the Settings tab — never a config file or YAML.
What can a Skein agent team do?
A Skein agent team can triage your inbox three times a day (Wren), deliver a ranked morning brief on the topics you track (Warbler), draft cold outreach and follow-ups in your voice (Hawk), and write LinkedIn posts that sound like you (Mockingbird). Conductor — the orchestrator — routes any question to the right agent and stitches the answers together.
How much does Skein cost?
Skein costs $29/month for Starter (1 agent), $59/month for Pro (up to 2 agents), and $129/month for Scale (up to 4 agents). Cancel any time. There's no per-seat pricing and no setup fees — Conductor is included free on every plan.
Who is Skein for?
Skein is for solo operators, founders, consultants, and small teams (typically under 10 people) who need executive leverage but can't justify hiring a full-time assistant or sales rep. If you're spending more than two hours a day on inbox, outreach, or content — Skein is built for you.
Which AI agents can I hire?
Skein currently ships four agents: Wren (executive assistant), Warbler (daily intelligence brief), Hawk (sales outreach), and Mockingbird (LinkedIn drafter). Each can be added once per skein, so a Scale plan runs the full formation. Conductor — the always-on orchestrator — coordinates them and is included on every plan.
How does Skein learn how I write?
Skein learns your voice from real examples you provide. Mockingbird ingests your LinkedIn Shares.csv export to mirror your post structure and cadence. Hawk learns from a corpus of past outreach you upload. Wren learns your reply voice from sent emails you paste in. The more samples you give, the closer drafts feel to how you actually write.
What integrations does Skein support?
Skein integrates with Gmail and Outlook for Wren's inbox triage, Apollo for Hawk's lead enrichment, RSS feeds plus Gmail newsletter labels plus YouTube channels for Warbler's brief, and accepts a LinkedIn Shares.csv export for Mockingbird's voice training. Calendar is the most cross-cutting integration — connect it early because scheduling features across all agents depend on it.
Is my data shared between agents?
Skein agents in the same skein operate independently — Mockingbird's drafts don't flow into Hawk's context, and each agent has its own database. The only shared layer is your integrations: a connected Gmail is available to all agents that need mail, and your tenant's connections are not exposed to other tenants.
How often does Wren triage my inbox?
Wren triages your inbox three times a day by default — morning, midday, and end-of-day. You can also kick off an ad-hoc run from the Inbox tab any time. The cadence is fixed for now; ad-hoc runs are unlimited.
When will Warbler deliver my daily brief?
Warbler delivers your first daily brief the morning after you complete setup. After that, a new brief lands every morning. Warbler runs overnight against your topics and sources — there's no manual trigger and the schedule is fixed.
